"Oceans" Microscope Shoot

MICROSCOPE SHOOT: Second unit director: Christophe Cheysson

GOAL: Being able to travel in a drop of water with x, y and roll motion plus the possibility of zooming in the image. Starting with a 1/2 mm large framing, finishing to 50 microns large.
Being able to release these images on large screenings till Imax theater.

METHOD: Using Zeiss V20 microscope, Sony F23 camera with customized camera settings and contrast curve able to deal with extreme highlights.
Using the skills of the creators of the Louma crane systems to remote the table of the microscope and to gear down the remote control of each axes.
No animals were harmed during this shooting. Each drop of water was changed after 10 mn to avoid.... boiling point.
